Tuesday December 22nd saw myself (along with Miss Teen Hawkesbury, Brittnee Sheath) head to St Hedwigs retirement complex and nursing home in Blacktown, NSW. I was afforded the privilege of speaking with the centers residents as well as being able to hand out little goody bags that we (myself and Brittnee) had made!
It is true what they say as well, the best classroom in the world is at the feet of our elderly. These members of society have so much to offer and to teach us and it is so vital that we listen. They have years of experience and wisdom, survived wars, the depression and all of life's obstacles. I had the best time with Mr Otto (pictured) who you can tell instantly has a cheeky and wild side... Even at his 90+ years!
I can't wait to head back and listen to more stories about his life!
